Taylor Swift reportedly bans phones for NYPD officers at wedding

NYPD officers working inside Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding reportedly must surrender their phones

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have reportedly introduced strict security measures for their highly anticipated wedding celebrations at Madison Square Garden, with reports claiming that even New York Police Department (NYPD) officers assigned to work inside the venue will not be permitted to carry mobile phones.

According to TMZ, officers stationed inside the event have been instructed to leave their phones behind throughout the wedding weekend. The report also claims that officers who were unwilling to comply with the policy were informed they could choose not to work the event. Neither the NYPD nor representatives for Swift and Kelce have publicly commented on the reported security requirement.

The reported phone restriction is said to apply throughout the wedding festivities, including the rehearsal dinner and the main ceremony, as organisers work to prevent unauthorised photos or videos from being shared online.

The enhanced privacy measures follow several visible security preparations outside Madison Square Garden. Large tents have been installed around entrances to obstruct public views into the venue, while barriers and controlled access points have also been established as guests begin arriving.

Before the restrictions were fully implemented, video obtained by TMZ reportedly showed glimpses of the venue's interior, including red drapery and floral decorations. Previous reports have also noted that a filming notice had been posted outside the venue, fuelling speculation that the couple may be documenting portions of the wedding for a future project, although this has not been confirmed.

Swift and Kelce have not publicly discussed their wedding security arrangements. However, with hundreds of celebrity guests expected to attend, the event has become one of the most closely guarded celebrity weddings of the year, attracting significant public interest and extensive media coverage.
