The world of detective Enola Holmes returns with higher personal stakes, familiar faces and a mystery that strikes at the heart of the famous Holmes family as Millie Bobby Brown reprises her starring role in 'Enola Holmes 3', the latest chapter in Netflix's hit mystery franchise.

Now streaming, the third instalment reunites Brown with Louis Partridge as Lord Tewkesbury and Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes, while taking the young sleuth beyond Britain for a case that blends family drama, romance and intrigue, According to Tudum.

The story opens with Enola preparing to marry her longtime love, Lord Tewkesbury, in Malta. Their Mediterranean wedding promises to mark the beginning of a new chapter in the couple's lives, but the celebrations are abruptly interrupted when Sherlock Holmes is kidnapped, forcing Enola to abandon her plans and launch the most personal investigation of her career.

Having built a reputation by solving increasingly complex mysteries in the previous two films, Enola enters the latest adventure with greater confidence in her abilities but also greater uncertainty about her future.

As she prepares to become Lady Tewkesbury, she struggles with the possibility that marriage could change the fiercely independent identity she has worked so hard to establish. Brown said revisiting Enola has been both rewarding and familiar after spending years portraying the central character in the television series 'Stranger Things'.

"Enola still has so many stories to tell, and I'm never done telling stories," Brown said. "I was on a TV show for 10 years - revisiting characters feels very second nature to me and is always exciting. I don't shy away from that at all."

The actress described Enola as "fierce, adventurous, and flawed", saying those imperfections are what make the character relatable and an inspiring role model for younger audiences. Over the course of three films, Enola has evolved from an underestimated teenager into a capable detective determined to make her own name rather than live in the shadow of her celebrated brother.

For Partridge, the new film marks another stage in Tewkesbury's own journey. Since first appearing as the idealistic young aristocrat in the original 'Enola Holmes', the character has grown into an influential member of the House of Lords with ambitions extending beyond his privileged upbringing.

"You see Tewkesbury gain a bit of responsibility and try to make his mark on the world," Partridge said. "He's making big decisions and he realises that he wants to settle down with Enola."

Although their wedding is central to the opening of the story, the unexpected disappearance of Sherlock quickly transforms the celebration into a race against time. Rather than stepping aside, Tewkesbury joins Enola's investigation, reinforcing the partnership that has become one of the franchise's defining relationships.

The return of Cavill as Sherlock Holmes also promises another dynamic between the famous detective and his younger sister. While Sherlock has gradually come to acknowledge Enola's talents, his disappearance shifts the balance of the story, placing Enola firmly at the centre of the investigation and forcing her to rely on the skills she has developed over years of solving difficult cases.

The third film continues the series' blend of detective fiction, coming-of-age drama and historical adventure, combining elaborate mysteries with themes of family, identity and personal independence.
