A preorder listing for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on Switch 2 has prompted discussion among fans after the game appeared with a $59.99 price tag, raising questions about the scale of the remake.

The listing was published by third-party retailer Playasia rather than Nintendo, making the price unofficial.

However, the retailer is generally regarded as honouring its listed prices, leading some players to speculate that the remake could launch below the $70 to $80 price range seen for several recent Switch 2 releases.

According to the report, the lower price has fuelled speculation that the remake may focus primarily on updated visuals and quality-of-life improvements rather than offering extensive new content or major gameplay changes.

Some fans had hoped the remake would significantly expand the original experience, with ideas including a larger Hyrule Field or the addition of locations such as the Light Temple.

The reported price has led some to question whether those expectations are realistic, although no official details have been released by Nintendo.

Others have taken a different view, suggesting that a lower price could simply make the remake more accessible while preserving one of gaming's most influential titles.

Many players have expressed interest in revisiting the original adventure with modern graphics and controls, regardless of whether substantial new content is included.

The report also noted that Nintendo has yet to confirm an official retail price or open preorders through its own channels. As a result, the Playasia listing could represent a placeholder or contain pricing that changes before launch.
