Erin Moriarty has revealed that she gave the producers of The Boys full access to her medical treatment after being diagnosed with Graves' disease, saying she wanted them to understand the physical impact the condition had on her while filming the show's final season.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the actress said she chose to be transparent about her health after receiving the diagnosis, allowing the production team to monitor her treatment and recovery throughout filming. She said the openness helped create a supportive environment on set.

"I gave the producers access to my treatment," Moriarty said. "I wanted them to know exactly what was happening because I didn't want anyone thinking I wasn't showing up or wasn't trying."

The actress, who plays Annie January, also known as Starlight, explained that her symptoms initially left her exhausted and struggling with everyday tasks before doctors diagnosed her with Graves' disease, an autoimmune disorder that causes the thyroid gland to become overactive.

Moriarty publicly disclosed her diagnosis in June 2026, encouraging others not to ignore persistent health concerns and to seek medical advice if something feels wrong. She said beginning treatment significantly improved her condition and allowed her to continue working.

She praised the producers of The Boys for their understanding, saying they accommodated her medical appointments and adjusted production when necessary to ensure she could prioritise her health while completing the final season.

"They were incredibly compassionate," Moriarty said, adding that she felt fortunate to work with a team that valued her wellbeing as much as the series itself.

The actress also reflected on how the diagnosis changed her perspective, saying she has learned to listen to her body rather than pushing through symptoms. She hopes sharing her experience will encourage others to seek help sooner if they suspect something is wrong.

The Boys is currently preparing to conclude with its fifth and final season, bringing Amazon Prime Video's hit superhero satire to an end. Moriarty has portrayed Starlight since the series premiered in 2019, making her one of its original cast members.
