Fox has released the first teaser for its upcoming Baywatch reboot, offering viewers an early look at the new generation of lifeguards set to continue the legacy of one of television's most iconic action dramas.

The series is scheduled to premiere in January and marks the franchise's return to television decades after the original became a global phenomenon.

The teaser introduces Stephen Amell as Hobie Buchannon, who now serves as Baywatch Captain while carrying on the legacy of his father, Mitch Buchannon, originally portrayed by David Hasselhoff. The footage also features Jessica Belkin as Charlie Vale, Noah Beck as Luke and Hassie Harrison as Nat, showcasing high-energy beach rescues, training sequences and the team's camaraderie.

The reboot continues the Baywatch story with a new generation of characters while maintaining the franchise's signature blend of action, drama and coastal adventure. Additional cast members include Shay Mitchell as Trina, Thaddeus LaGrone as Brad and Brooks Nader as Selene. Social media star Livvy Dunne makes her acting debut as Grace, while David Chokachi reprises his original role as Cody Madison in a recurring appearance.

Originally launched in 1989, Baywatch became one of the world's most successful television series, airing in more than 200 countries and attracting over a billion weekly viewers at its peak. The franchise later expanded with the 2017 feature film starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron.

The new series is produced by Fox Entertainment and Fremantle, with Matt Nix serving as executive producer and showrunner alongside executive producers McG, Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto and Mike Horowitz. The newly released teaser signals the beginning of the promotional campaign ahead of the show's highly anticipated debut.
