Tom Hardy returns for ‘MobLand’ Season 3 after reported behind the scenes rift
The actor and producers reportedly resolved their differences in London, clearing the way for his expected return

Tom Hardy is expected to return for a potential third season of MobLand after reportedly resolving a dispute with members of the show's production team.
According to Variety, Hardy has agreed to continue starring in the Paramount+ crime drama after meeting with executive producer Jez Butterworth and other key figures involved in the series. The discussions reportedly took place in London following the completion of filming for the second season, which wrapped production in March.
Although Paramount+ has not officially renewed MobLand for a third season, sources indicate that Hardy's return is now expected. Given the strong performance of the series on the streaming platform, industry expectations remain high that another season will be commissioned.
The reported disagreement between Hardy and the production team had previously cast doubt over the actor's future with the drama. Variety had earlier reported that Hardy had fallen out with Butterworth, 101 Studios and others after completing work on Season 2. Details of the disagreement have not been publicly disclosed.
Sources now say both sides met to discuss the issues, ultimately reaching an understanding that paved the way for Hardy to continue with the series. Representatives for Paramount, 101 Studios and Hardy have not publicly commented on the report.
Hardy plays Harry Da Souza, a highly skilled fixer who works within the dangerous world of organised crime. The character has become one of the central figures in MobLand, which debuted on Paramount+ in 2025 and quickly established itself as one of the platform's most watched original dramas.
Created by Ronan Bennett, MobLand follows the powerful Harrigan crime family as they navigate internal conflicts and external threats while attempting to maintain control of their criminal empire. Pierce Brosnan stars as family patriarch Conrad Harrigan, while Helen Mirren plays his formidable wife Maeve. Paddy Considine portrays their son Kevin, adding another layer to the family's complicated relationships.
Executive producer Jez Butterworth wrote all 10 episodes of the first season alongside Bennett, helping shape the series' distinctive tone and character driven storytelling. Hardy's portrayal of Harry Da Souza has been widely praised by critics and audiences, making his continued involvement an important element of the show's future.
Helen Mirren recently made her admiration for Hardy clear during an interview. When asked whether she would work with him again, she responded enthusiastically, saying she would do so "in a heartbeat". Mirren described Hardy as an extraordinary actor and acknowledged that performers approach their work in different ways.
She added that what ultimately matters is the quality of the final performance on screen, calling Hardy a very special person and saying her support for him was genuine and heartfelt. Her comments fuelled speculation that the relationship between Hardy and the wider production team had improved following reports of the earlier disagreement.
While fans will need to wait for Paramount+ to formally announce a third season, Hardy's reported return represents a significant boost for the future of MobLand.
