Why is Amanda Batula leaving Summer House after 10 seasons?

Amanda Batula will not return for Summer House Season 11 following the #Scamanda controversy and cast fallout

Amanda Batula will not return for Summer House Season 11, ending her decade-long run on the Bravo reality series following the highly publicised #Scamanda controversy.

According to Variety, Batula's departure comes months after her relationship with castmate West Wilson sparked major tension within the show's core friend group. Wilson has also exited the series after the pair confirmed their romance in March through a joint Instagram post.

Bravo executive Noah Samton previously explained that Summer House differs from other reality franchises because the cast members live together throughout filming. He said ongoing personal conflicts can make that dynamic impossible, making it difficult for cast members with unresolved issues to continue sharing the house.

The fallout from Batula and Wilson's relationship became a central storyline during the Season 10 reunion, where the pair faced criticism from fellow cast members and viewers. Bravo later aired a special episode titled Summer House: The Aftermath after producers felt the reunion left many questions unanswered.

Despite Batula's exit, most of the Season 10 cast is expected to return for the new season, including Kyle Cooke, Ciara Miller, Carl Radke, Lindsay Hubbard, Jesse Solomon and Mia Calabrese. Production for Season 11 is scheduled to begin in the Hamptons in July.

Batula first joined Summer House during its debut season in 2016 as Kyle Cooke's girlfriend before the couple married in 2021. Following their separation earlier this year, many viewers expected her to continue on the series with a new chapter after the divorce. Instead, her departure marks the end of one of the show's longest-running cast tenures, while her future within Bravo, including a possible appearance on In the City, remains uncertain.
