Jenna Leigh Green has reflected on playing one of television's most memorable high school bullies, revealing that stepping into the role of Libby Chessler on Sabrina the Teenage Witch was "so much fun."

Speaking to People during the cast's 30th anniversary reunion in Chicago, Green looked back fondly on portraying Sabrina Spellman's sharp-tongued rival throughout the sitcom's first three seasons.

"I loved playing the mean girl," Green said. "It was so much fun." She explained that delivering Libby's cutting remarks with a smile made the character especially entertaining to portray.

Green said Libby resonated with audiences because almost everyone has encountered someone like her.

"Everybody knew a Libby," she said, adding that while her character could be cruel, there was also a humorous side to her over-the-top confidence and complete lack of self-awareness.

The actress reunited with Melissa Joan Hart, Caroline Rhea, Nate Richert, Beth Broderick and other former cast members during a special event celebrating the beloved sitcom's 30th anniversary. Green joked about the milestone, saying it was surreal to realise how much time had passed since the series first premiered.

Despite ending its seven-season run in 2003, Sabrina the Teenage Witch continues to attract new viewers through streaming platforms and reruns. Green said she is constantly surprised by the number of younger fans who have discovered the series decades after it originally aired.

According to the actress, the show's enduring popularity comes down to its timeless themes, unique humour and memorable characters, which continue to resonate across generations.

Green said reuniting with her former castmates reminded her how special the experience had been, describing the event as a celebration of a series that has remained part of popular culture for three decades.

Sabrina the Teenage Witch premiered on September 27, 1996, with Melissa Joan Hart starring as Sabrina Spellman, a teenager who discovers on her 16th birthday that she is a witch. Green's portrayal of Libby Chessler became one of the sitcom's most recognisable roles, cementing her place in '90s television history.
