Anne Hathaway previously reflected on how Rihanna and her Ocean's 8 co-stars helped boost her confidence as she adjusted to changes in her body after becoming a mother.
The Oscar-winning actress recently revealed her third pregnancy on social media, sharing a glimpse of her baby bump.
However, Hathaway has previously spoken about the challenges she faced with body image after welcoming her first child.
During a 2018 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote Ocean's 8, Hathaway discussed returning to work after becoming a mother and adjusting to a different body shape.
"One of the lucky things about being in this business for so long is that I've really kind of come to terms with the pressure that you get to look a certain way as an actress, and I don't beat myself up about any of that stuff anymore," she said. "But after I had my son, the weight was really slow to come off and so I was a different size than I normally am."
Hathaway explained that she initially felt nervous when arriving on set. Director Gary Ross reassured her by emphasising the importance of representing different body types on screen.
The actress said her co-stars quickly helped her feel more comfortable. Recalling the experience, Hathaway shared that Sandra Bullock greeted her with, "Looking good, mama!" while Cate Blanchett complimented her outfit by saying, "Nice jeans, Hathaway!"
According to Hathaway, Rihanna's reaction left a particularly lasting impression.
"And then Rihanna looks up and goes, 'Damn girl, you got an ass!' And I of course freaked out and loved it so much. I was like, 'Really?!' And she goes, 'You got an ass like me!'"
Hathaway shares two sons, Jonathan Rosebanks Shulman and Jack Shulman, with her husband Adam Shulman. The couple married in 2012 and are currently expecting their third child.
The actress's comments have resurfaced following her recent pregnancy announcement.
