Romeo Beckham will make his acting debut in 'Forty Love', tennis drama centred on love and identity

Romeo Beckham is set to make his acting debut in Forty Love, a forthcoming French drama that combines professional tennis with a story exploring love and identity.

The 23-year-old son of David Beckham and Victoria Beckham will star alongside Paul Kircher, Guillaume Canet and Benjamin Voisin in the film, which is directed by fashion photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti.

According to the film's synopsis, Forty Love follows Sacha Gallo, a talented tennis player portrayed by Kircher, as he pursues Grand Slam success in Paris under the guidance of his father and coach.

The arrival of a new rival, played by Beckham, challenges not only his ambitions on the court but also his personal sense of identity.

The synopsis states, "For the first time, he faces an opponent of an entirely different nature — love. A force as exhilarating as it is destabilizing — and far more dangerous than anything he has encountered on the court."

Producer Hugo Selignac praised Carlotti's transition into filmmaking, saying there "is a rare tenderness, melancholy and strength" in his work.

He described Forty Love as a "sensual, romantic and deeply moving romantic fable and coming-of-age story" that explores elite sport and the emotions beneath its competitive surface.

The project marks a new direction for Beckham, who has built a career in modelling and fashion. In recent years, he has worked with luxury brands including Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga.

Before moving fully into fashion, Beckham pursued both football and tennis. He trained with Andy Murray during the late 2010s and later played for Fort Lauderdale CF, which became Inter Miami II, as well as Brentford F.C. Reserves. He left football in 2024 to focus on fashion opportunities.

The announcement comes shortly after Beckham received a fine and penalty points for using a mobile phone while driving in Westminster.

According to IMDb, Forty Love is currently in post-production and is scheduled for release on November 25.
