Zendaya and Robert Pattinson’s romantic comedy-drama The Drama is heading to streaming, with HBO Max setting an August 14 debut for the acclaimed A24 feature.

According to Variety, the Kristoffer Borgli-directed film will begin streaming on HBO Max after a successful theatrical run. The movie, which premiered earlier this year, stars Zendaya and Pattinson as a seemingly perfect couple whose relationship is thrown into turmoil after a revelation emerges just before their wedding.

Written by Borgli, The Drama blends romance, dark comedy and psychological twists, with the filmmaker describing it as an exploration of modern relationships and the secrets people keep from one another. The Norwegian director previously earned praise for Dream Scenario, starring Nicolas Cage.

The film marks the first on-screen pairing between Zendaya and Pattinson, whose chemistry and performances have been singled out by critics. The duo also served as executive producers on the project, which was produced by Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen under their Square Peg banner alongside A24.

The Drama debuted in theatres in May and earned strong reviews, with many praising its offbeat tone and emotional complexity. It quickly became one of A24's most talked-about releases of the year and performed well with younger audiences drawn by its star power.

Pattinson has a busy slate ahead, including Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, while Zendaya is set to return for Euphoria season 3 and Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Messiah. Both stars have also been linked to several upcoming projects, making The Drama one of the rare opportunities for audiences to see the pair together.

With its streaming premiere now set for August 14, viewers who missed the film in cinemas will soon have the chance to catch one of 2026's buzziest releases from home.
