The music industry is mourning the reported death of producer Tay Keith, with artists, collaborators and fans sharing tributes following news that he died on June 18 at the age of 29. According to authorities, 'no foul play is suspected’, and the cause of death is yet to be determined.

The Memphis-born producer's death prompted an outpouring of grief across the hip-hop community, with many reflecting on his influence on modern rap music and the impact he had on fellow artists.

Tay Keith became one of the defining producers of his generation through collaborations with major artists including Drake, Travis Scott, 21 Savage, Future and Moneybagg Yo.

His production style and instantly recognisable producer tag helped shape some of the biggest hip-hop releases of the past decade.

Among those paying tribute was fellow Memphis rapper BlocBoy JB, who shared emotional messages about their friendship.

"Damn Cuz You Just Hurt Me Bad," he wrote. "We talked everyday yeen tell me you was leaving."

Producer Hitkidd also reflected on their long-standing relationship, writing,"I ain't even got the words. We been doing this since 2010 @taykeith."

Additional tributes came from across the music industry. Rapper Juicy J posted, "Can't believe I'm saying this RIP TAY KEITH Memphis Tenn Legend. Prayers up for the family friends & fans we lost a great one."

Producer BNYX added, "Long Live Tay Keith, you inspired many including me. You will be greatly missed. I'm so Glad I got to meet you."

The loss was felt beyond music, with streamers and online personalities also expressing shock as reports emerged. Fans flooded social media with messages celebrating Keith's career and legacy.
