Conor McGregor's recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon has generated significant online discussion as the former UFC champion prepares for his return to the Octagon.

During the interview, Fallon spoke with McGregor about his planned comeback fight against Max Holloway at UFC 329, scheduled to take place on July 11 in Las Vegas. The conversation focused primarily on McGregor’s fighting career, future plans and personal reflections.

When asked what advice he would give his younger self, McGregor responded, “Don’t listen to none of them.” The comment quickly circulated online, but much of the reaction centred on Fallon’s decision not to address controversies that have surrounded the fighter in recent years.

Following the broadcast, social media users criticised the interview, with some questioning why McGregor was given a mainstream platform without discussion of the legal issues that have drawn public attention. The reaction comes after McGregor lost an appeal in 2025 relating to a civil case brought by Nikita Hand, in which a jury found him liable and awarded damages.

The interview aired as McGregor continues promoting his return to mixed martial arts after a lengthy absence from competition. The former two-division UFC champion has not fought since suffering a serious leg injury during his trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier in 2021.

In separate recent media appearances, McGregor has spoken about personal challenges, faith and overcoming difficult periods in his life. He also addressed reports regarding performance-enhancing drugs during his recovery, rejecting the claims and stating that his focus was on regaining his health after the injury.

With UFC 329 approaching, McGregor remains one of the sport’s most talked-about figures, with both his comeback and public appearances continuing to attract widespread attention and debate.
