Katy Perry has opened up about how her relationship with Justin Trudeau has changed her outlook on life, revealing that falling in love with the former Canadian prime minister has been a transformative experience.

The singer, 41, discussed her personal growth and songwriting journey during an appearance on Justin Tranter’s Unfamous podcast, where she spoke about the impact of having love in her life.

“I have love in my life now. That’s transformed me,” Perry said, explaining that love has influenced the way she views herself and her creativity. She added that while phrases like “all you need is love” may sound like clichés, they hold deeper meaning once someone experiences that kind of connection.

Perry and Trudeau, 50, began dating in 2025 following her split from longtime partner Orlando Bloom. The singer revealed that the previous year had been challenging but said she focused on processing her emotions rather than seeing herself as a victim.

“It would have been easy for me to fall into that weird victim triangle,” Perry shared, explaining that she chose to face difficult feelings, learn from them and move forward.

The Roar singer also discussed the importance of boundaries and self-respect, saying that personal growth helped her understand what she needed before entering a new relationship.

Perry’s romance with Justin Trudeau has continued to attract public attention, with reports suggesting the pair have developed a strong connection. Trudeau previously separated from his wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau in 2023, and he shares three children from that relationship.

As Perry continues embracing a new chapter in her personal life, she says love and self-reflection have played a major role in her transformation.
