Ed Sheeran tells fans his current tour could be his last appearance for some time

Ed Sheeran has revealed that he intends to take a break from the spotlight after completing his current LOOP tour, telling fans that he wants to dedicate more time to family life.

The British singer shared the news during the opening night of the North American leg of his tour in Glendale, Arizona. After performing several of his biggest hits, Sheeran paused to address the audience and suggested that they might not see him for a while once the tour concludes.

“This is gonna be my last time here in a while,” he told the crowd. “I might take some time off once this tour has ended and sort of do the dad thing. If I do not see you for a while, I love you. Thank you for coming.”

Sheeran and his wife, Cherry Seaborn, share two daughters, Lyra and Jupiter. The couple married in 2019 after first meeting during childhood and later reconnecting as adults. Throughout his career, Sheeran has frequently spoken about the importance of balancing his professional commitments with family life.

The 35 year old singer has spent much of 2026 travelling around the world. His schedule began with performances in New Zealand before continuing with concerts across Australia and South America. He is now touring the United States and is expected to remain there for several months, with the final show currently scheduled for November 7 in Tampa, Florida.

The announcement comes during a period of significant change in Sheeran’s career. Earlier this year, he confirmed that he was ending his long relationship with Atlantic Records after approximately 15 years. Explaining the move to fans, the singer stressed that the decision was not driven by disagreements but by a desire for a new chapter.

He described the transition as the natural progression from the teenager who first signed his recording contract to the father of two he has become today.

Since signing with Atlantic Records in 2011, Sheeran has become one of the world’s most successful artists. His catalogue includes multiple chart-topping albums and songs, while “Shape of You” remains among Spotify’s most streamed tracks.

Away from music, Sheeran has established a quieter life in Suffolk with his family. His property, often nicknamed “Sheeranville” by British media, includes several custom features and has become his retreat from life on the road.

Industry speculation has linked the singer with potential future label opportunities, although no new agreement has been officially announced.
