Argentine YouTuber Gaspi, whose real name was Gaspar Prim, has been named among the victims of a helicopter crash in Rio de Janeiro that also claimed the life of singer Oliver Tree and several others, according to Brazilian authorities.

Gaspi, aged 23, was a prominent figure in Spanish-language online entertainment, with Social Blade estimating his YouTube channel at approximately 2.83 million subscribers and around 76 million total views.

His presence also extended to Instagram, where he was reported to have more than 2.8 million followers, according to public platform listings.

He became widely known for provocative street interviews, prank-based comedy, and a deliberately awkward on-camera persona that gained traction across Latin America and Spain.

Spanish outlet AS previously described him as a creator associated with humorous yet controversial street interview content, noting that some of his videos had been removed from YouTube due to content concerns.

In 2025, Gaspi participated in Ibai Llanos’ La Velada del Año V boxing event, a major Spanish creator showcase.

Reports from that period also indicated he had begun distancing himself from the “Gaspi” persona, expressing fatigue with the character and a desire to present more of his personal identity beyond the online act.

Authorities identified him in the official victim list under his legal name, Gaspar Prim. Reports state he was travelling in one of the helicopters alongside Oliver Tree, Lucas Vignale, Lucas Brito Chaves, and pilot Alexandre Souza. The second aircraft was reportedly piloted by Charles Marsillac, who also died in the collision.

Brazilian aviation authorities, including CENIPA and ANAC, are investigating the circumstances of the mid-air collision, which occurred over Rio de Janeiro’s western zone.

Initial reports indicate both helicopters crashed following the impact, prompting emergency response and fire damage at a nearby site.
