The team defeated the San Antonio Spurs 94-90 in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, ending a 53-year wait for a championship.
Videos posted online and footage captured during Lin’s livestream appeared to show the streamer being detained by officers after climbing onto what was described as an Amazon vehicle near the arena.
According to the description accompanying one of the videos, New York Police Department officers had been directing crowds away from the immediate vicinity of Madison Square Garden.
Barricades had reportedly been installed on multiple streets in an effort to manage large gatherings outside designated watch-party areas.
Additional clips circulating on social media alleged that Lin climbed onto the vehicle while nearby fans chanted “Knicks in 5” during the celebrations. At the time of publication, it remained unclear whether any formal charges had been filed in connection with the incident.
Lin is known for her IRL livestream content and has built a sizeable audience through public broadcasts. She has also previously attracted online attention due to controversies involving her livestream activity.
The arrest occurred during a night of widespread celebrations throughout New York City following the Knicks’ championship-clinching victory.
Fans filled streets around Manhattan after the final buzzer, while preparations reportedly began for a championship parade scheduled to take place later in the week.
