Ashrafi stresses need for national unity

Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) chairman Allama Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi has declared national unity the strongest defence against internal discord and external pressures.

Addressing an Inter-Sect Harmony Seminar in Faisalabad on Sunday, Ashrafi said Pakistan had emerged stronger through the collective resolve of its people, armed forces and religious leadership.

He reaffirmed unwavering support for Kashmir and warned against attempts to fuel sectarian divisions and instability in the country.

He described Marka-e-Haq as the greatest victory of this century.
