Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater have ended their relationship after nearly three years together, with multiple sources describing the romance as “on-off” prior to the reported split.

The pair first became linked in 2023 after meeting on the set of Wicked, where Grande played Glinda and Slater portrayed Bock.

Their relationship drew public attention shortly after Grande’s separation from her husband, Dalton Gomez, leading to speculation and scrutiny that has followed them since.

According to sources cited by Page Six, the couple had experienced periods of separation and reconciliation throughout their relationship, with reports suggesting they had already been “on/off” for some time before the latest split.

One insider noted that their status had been uncertain for months, saying there was scepticism about whether they would remain together.

Public appearances continued intermittently during their relationship, including Slater attending Grande’s Saturday Night Live holiday show in December 2025.

However, observers at the time noted surprise at his presence, with reports indicating the pair had not been seen together for weeks prior.

Grande and Slater’s relationship also attracted criticism online when it first became public, due to overlap with their respective previous relationships.

Slater’s ex-wife, Lilly Jay, later wrote about the impact of their separation, describing the breakdown of her marriage and the challenges she experienced following the public attention.

Industry commentary has also surfaced around Grande’s personal and professional life, with one source describing her as highly talented but “needy” in personal and work settings, though others close to her have rejected claims of misconduct or inappropriate behaviour during the relationship.

Separately, comedian Pete Davidson, Grande’s former fiancé, has reportedly remained supportive of her. A friend said Davidson continues to be protective of her and admires her resilience and career focus, despite the pair not being in regular contact.

Grande is currently focused on her ongoing tour and upcoming projects, while Slater recently made his first public appearance following news of the separation.
