Woman killed, 11 injured in accidents
Six separate emergencies were reported at different locations in Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Saturday, including a powerful house explosion caused by gas accumulation, an LPG cylinder blast, fires in homes and a commercial plaza, and two traffic accidents.
One woman lost her life and 11 others were injured in the incidents and shifted to various hospitals. Rescue 1122 teams responded promptly and carried out relief operations at all locations while successfully controlling fires at several sites.
The first emergency was reported in Affandi Colony within the jurisdiction of Sadiqabad police station in Rawalpindi, where a suspected gas accumulation caused an explosion in a house followed by a fire.
Five Rescue 1122 emergency vehicles rushed to the scene and launched rescue operations. The injured were provided first aid and shifted to Holy Family Hospital, while firefighters brought the blaze under control. According to rescue officials, seven people were injured and the house suffered severe damage.
The second incident occurred near Zia Mosque Stop on the Islamabad Expressway service road, where a speeding vehicle hit two women crossing the road. One woman died on the spot before rescue teams arrived, while the other was found critically injured and shifted to hospital by a CDA ambulance.
Rescue 1122 transported the deceased woman's body to hospital. The injured woman, identified as approximately 40-year-old Nazma Bibi, suffered multiple fractures and serious head injuries.
