Appointment of 'outsider officers' in KDA opposed

Officers and employees of the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) have launched a protest against the appointment of what they describe as unrelated, questionable, and court order-defying officers within the organisation.
The Civic Centre building echoed with slogans such as 'No to outsider officers' and 'Remove outsider officers', while black banners criticising the actions of the Sindh local government department were displayed across the premises. Employees unions, including the Collective Bargaining Agent (CBA), as well as all factions of the Officers' Association, united in opposition to the appointments.Strong resentment has spread among KDA officers and staff over the transfer and appointment of employees from SCUG Services, trainee cadres, and various town councils.
Employees pointed out that KDA's Schedule of Establishment contains no sanctioned posts for SCUG Services or council employees. Despite this, they allege that appointments on deputation are being made in violation of court orders. More than a dozen officers from unrelated departments have reportedly been posted
Representatives of the KDA Employees Union, labour unions staged a strong protest at the Civic Centre and chanted slogans against the appointments.
