Bad Bunny and Pope Leo meet in Spain while both are simultaneously on tour
No photographs were released after the singer and his family reportedly met the pontiff at Bernabeu Stadium

Bad Bunny and Pope Leo XIV shared a private meeting in Madrid during the pontiff's historic trip to Spain, bringing together two figures whose influence reaches millions around the world.
According to the Vatican, Pope Leo met the Puerto Rican music superstar and his family on June 8 during a private gathering held at Madrid's Bernabeu Stadium. No photographs or additional details from the meeting were released publicly.
The encounter had been the subject of widespread speculation before Pope Leo arrived in Spain. Both men happened to be in Madrid at the same time, with the pontiff undertaking an important pastoral visit while Bad Bunny was performing as part of the European leg of his Debi Tirar Mas Fotos World Tour.
Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, began his Madrid residency in late May and has been performing a series of shows in the Spanish capital. His residency is scheduled to conclude on June 25 before he continues touring across Europe and the United Kingdom.
Ahead of the meeting, Pope Leo acknowledged the singer's popularity among younger generations. According to comments reported by The Associated Press, the pontiff joked that many young people would probably choose to attend a Bad Bunny concert rather than see the pope. He added that there would still be many faithful eager to participate in papal events.
Pope Leo's visit to Spain has been viewed as a landmark occasion. During the trip, he is scheduled to celebrate Mass at Barcelona's famous Basilica Sagrada Familia and inaugurate the newly completed Tower of Jesus Christ. The event coincides with the 100th anniversary of the death of celebrated Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi, who designed the basilica and is buried in its crypt.
For Bad Bunny, the meeting represents another notable moment during an already successful year. Earlier in 2026, the artist won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year before headlining the Super Bowl LX halftime show.
The Puerto Rican star has become one of the most influential figures in contemporary music, earning worldwide success through his Spanish language releases and helping bring Latin music to even larger audiences.
Although the Vatican did not disclose what was discussed during the private encounter, the meeting highlighted the unusual overlap between two global personalities commanding attention from audiences across different generations.
