Kristen Stewart praises wife Dylan Meyer’s talent behind 'The Wrong Girls'
Kristen Stewart praises wife Dylan Meyer’s directing debut, The Wrong Girls, and shares her experience working on set

Kristen Stewart has praised her wife Dylan Meyer’s work as a director, calling attention to Meyer’s approach to leading the set of her feature directorial debut, The Wrong Girls.
Stewart discussed working with Meyer during an interview with E! News while promoting the psychedelic comedy, which stars Stewart alongside Alia Shawkat. The actress said she was impressed by the way Meyer built a supportive environment around the film.
“It’s the way that she chooses the people that surround the thing that she loves so much,” Stewart said. She explained that filmmakers need to work with people who share their passion for a project.
Stewart also described Meyer as having a “beautiful, delicate, gentle, inviting ability” to make those around her feel connected to the production. According to Stewart, the atmosphere Meyer created encouraged the crew to fully commit to the film.
“The crew was ready to jump into any hot or cold water for her,” Stewart said, adding that making the movie was a fun experience.
Meyer and Stewart began dating in 2019 and became engaged in 2021. The couple married in an intimate Los Angeles ceremony in April 2025.
Meyer revealed that she had originally written The Wrong Girls before she and Stewart began dating and had envisioned Stewart in the lead role. The filmmaker said she first shared the project with Stewart about seven years before they reconnected romantically.
The Wrong Girls follows best friends Frankie and Molly, played by Stewart and Shawkat, whose lives become chaotic after a case of mistaken identity. The cast also includes LaKeith Stanfield, Zack Fox, Tony Hale, Kate McKinnon and Geena Davis.
The film is scheduled to open in theaters on Aug. 14.
