Radio host’s hot-mic comment on Taylor Swift at Knicks game goes viral
Knicks radio commentator triggered debate after hot mic remark directed at Taylor Swift during NBA Finals coverage

A Knicks radio broadcaster has prompted widespread online reaction after a hot mic moment during NBA Finals coverage involving Taylor Swift at Madison Square Garden.
Swift attended Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night, joining a high-profile courtside crowd as the Knicks staged a dramatic comeback victory.
During the live radio broadcast, ESPN New York’s Monica McNutt was heard discussing Swift’s presence in the arena.
After asking, “Is that Taylor Swift down there?”, McNutt added, “She’s not a Knicks fan. Get out of here girl.”
The comment circulated widely on social media after clips of the broadcast were shared online, with some users reacting critically to the tone of the exchange, while others defended the broadcaster or interpreted the remark differently.
McNutt and her co-host Tyler Murray appeared to be unaware they were live on air at the time of the exchange. The incident quickly gained traction across social platforms, with fans debating both the content and context of the remark.
Swift’s appearance at Madison Square Garden came as the Knicks secured a narrow 107–106 win over the Spurs, taking a 3–1 lead in the series. The result followed a major comeback performance that saw New York overturn a large deficit to move within one victory of the championship.
The pop star attended the game with friends Alana and Este Haim, wearing customised Knicks-themed shirts, including one reading “Stevie Knicks”. She was also shown on the arena jumbotron during the evening, receiving a mixed but largely positive crowd response.
