Kingdom Hearts IV has reappeared with a new gameplay trailer, offering the first substantial update since its initial reveal in 2022 and confirming a multi-platform release that includes consoles and PC.

The trailer was shown during a recent Nintendo Direct presentation and confirmed that the title is currently in development for Kingdom Hearts IV across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC, indicating a simultaneous launch across platforms.

While the presentation did not include a release date, the new footage provides the most detailed look yet at the game’s direction.

The trailer features gameplay set in a modern-day Tokyo environment, including combat sequences in Shibuya, where protagonist Sora is shown engaging with Heartless in a more realistic visual style than previous entries in the series.

The update follows a long gap since the last publicly released trailer in 2022, during which fans have continued to analyse screenshots and limited promotional material for further information about the project’s development.

The visual presentation suggests a shift towards more grounded environments while maintaining the franchise’s established mechanics.

The Nintendo Direct version of the trailer did not list all platforms explicitly, however Square Enix’s official upload confirms development across multiple systems, reinforcing that the title is being prepared for a broad global release.

Kingdom Hearts IV remains without a confirmed release window, and no additional gameplay systems or story details were announced during the presentation.

Further updates are expected as development continues, with the newly released trailer confirming its positioning as a cross-platform release spanning current-generation consoles and PC hardware.
