Lauren LaVera and Rory Culkin star in 'Red Wedding', a new horror-thriller now filming from Saw writers and Gulfstream

Lauren LaVera and Rory Culkin have been cast in the upcoming horror-thriller Red Wedding (working title), a new genre project from director Josh Stolberg and Gulfstream Pictures that has officially entered production in Birmingham, Alabama.
The film, written by Stolberg alongside Pete Goldfinger—best known for their work on multiple installments of the Saw franchise—follows a teenage girl and her stepmother who are abducted in a ransom kidnapping gone wrong. After being taken to a remote location, the pair soon realize that their captors are not their biggest threat, as a mysterious bride and groom begin violently targeting those involved.
Lauren LaVera, known for her breakout role in the Terrifier horror franchise, will lead the film opposite Rory Culkin, whose credits include Waco, Columbus, and Lords of Chaos. The casting brings together two actors with strong genre experience, heightening expectations for the film’s intense and character-driven approach.
The project marks another collaboration for Gulfstream Pictures, which is financing and producing the film alongside Lifeboat Productions. The company has recently backed a slate of genre and commercial titles, continuing its push into elevated, high-concept storytelling.
Director Josh Stolberg has previously worked extensively within the horror space, including writing Jigsaw and Spiral: From the Book of Saw. His transition into directing this project is being positioned as a fresh step in his genre career.
Producers have described Red Wedding as a bold and unpredictable horror experience focused on survival, tension, and escalating brutality. With production now underway, the film is expected to target horror audiences with a mix of psychological suspense and slasher-style intensity.
