Hulu renews The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives for 20 episodes, while Season 5 will feature a shorter five-episode run

Hulu has renewed its hit reality series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives for 20 additional episodes as the streaming platform continues expanding the popular MomTok-focused franchise.

The new episodes are expected to form future seasons, likely split between Season 6 and Season 7.

Production on the upcoming episodes has already started, with Hulu yet to confirm the exact episode breakdown or whether both seasons will follow the previous 10-episode format. The final structure is expected to depend on ongoing storylines and developments within the cast.

Before the new renewal, Season 5 faced production delays following controversy surrounding cast member Taylor Frankie Paul. Filming was paused earlier this year after Paul became involved in a legal situation related to allegations of domestic assault. The charges against her were later dropped, but the incident affected production plans.

As a result, Season 5 will have a shorter run than previous installments. The upcoming season will consist of five episodes instead of the usual 10 and is expected to explore the fallout from the drama surrounding Paul and the wider MomTok group.

Cast member Layla Taylor previously teased that Season 5 would be a darker chapter for the series, describing it as a necessary season to understand where the cast members currently stand.

The returning cast is expected to include Taylor Frankie Paul, Jessi Draper, Jen Affleck, Miranda Hope, Mikayla Matthews and Mayci Neeley. Whitney Leavitt has announced that Season 5 will be her final appearance on the Hulu reality series.
