Starbucks has announced the return of its iconic Unicorn Frappuccino, giving fans another chance to try one of the coffee chain's most memorable and talked-about limited-time drinks.

First introduced in 2017, the colorful beverage became an instant internet sensation thanks to its vibrant purple-and-blue appearance and unique sweet-and-sour flavor combination. Its original release lasted just five days, helping turn it into a highly sought-after menu item.

According to Starbucks, the Unicorn Frappuccino features a crème-based Frappuccino blended with mango syrup and pink powder, layered with a sour blue drizzle, and topped with vanilla whipped cream along with sweet pink and sour blue powder.

One of the drink's signature features is its color-changing effect, shifting from purple to pink as the ingredients mix together while being consumed.

Fans who sampled the original version described the taste as a blend of fruit punch and blue raspberry, while others compared it to a milder version of Sour Skittles.

Although the Unicorn Frappuccino has rarely appeared on menus since 2017, it made a brief comeback at Coachella 2026, where a limited number were offered each day during the festival.

Starbucks says the fan-favorite drink will return to locations worldwide for a single weekend at the end of summer, though an exact release date has not yet been announced.
