Unpaid dues : Sepco cuts power to govt offices

The Sukkur Electric Power Company (Sepco) disconnected its supply to government offices in Sukkur.

SUKKUR: The Sukkur Electric Power Company (Sepco) disconnected its supply to government offices in Sukkur, Ghotki, Khairpur, Naushehro Feroze, Larkana, Qamber, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Kashmore and Dadu, on Monday, over unpaid bills. According to spokesman Abdul Sattar Memon, irrigation and public health engineering departments, taluka municipal administration, water supply and drainage department and others owed them Rs8 billion. The company had issued notices to all the departments in June and July asking them to pay. The supply has now been disconnected on the orders of the water and power ministry, he said.
