Water scarcity: Acute water shortage in Sanghar
Sanghar tehsil has only one filtration plant which currently meets the needs of only one-fifth of the population.

There is acute shortage of drinking water in Sanghar and more people are getting stomach illnesses. Dr Shabir Ahmed, of a taluka hospital in Sanghar, said, “Although we have enough supplies of medicines, but the need is to contain the surge of illnesses caused by contaminated water.” Sanghar tehsil has only one filtration plant which currently meets the needs of only one-fifth of the population. Ismail Khan, a resident of Sanghar, said that dirty water was being supplied by the district government.
