Morgan Wallen defends last-minute Pittsburgh show cancellation amid backlash

Morgan Wallen has spoken out against what he called “nonsense” commentary following the last-minute cancellation of his Pittsburgh concert on June 6, 2026, during his Still the Problem tour.

The country star explained on his Instagram Stories that the show at Acrisure Stadium was called off after discussions with local officials and his team, who warned of severe weather conditions, including strong winds and thunderstorms in the area. Wallen said the decision was made in the interest of safety for both fans and crew.

“Safety for my fans and crew is the highest priority,” he wrote, adding that refunds would be available at the point of purchase. In a follow-up video, Wallen addressed speculation surrounding the cancellation, insisting he acted based on the information available at the time.

“I understand the wind and whatever else hasn’t gotten to Pittsburgh yet, but my team advised me based on forecasts,” he said, adding that the stage setup could have become dangerous in extreme conditions. He also expressed sympathy for those affected by weather impacts across parts of Pennsylvania.

Wallen further pushed back against criticism, stating there had been “a lot of nonsense” circulating about him that was “simply not true,” and said he wanted to “clear the air.”

The cancellation came shortly after a separate incident during a May 29 Denver show, where Wallen made headlines for flipping a piano onstage following technical issues during his performance of “Sand in My Boots.”

Despite online debate, some concertgoers expressed understanding of the Pittsburgh decision, noting weather concerns and refund assurances.

As Wallen continues his tour, the situation has added further attention to both his live performances and ongoing public scrutiny surrounding recent onstage moments.
