Rebecca Gayheart has marked a major milestone for her daughter Georgia, celebrating the teenager’s middle school graduation three months after the death of her father, Eric Dane.

The actress shared a tribute on Instagram on June 6, congratulating 14-year-old Georgia on completing middle school following what she described as a challenging year for the family.

Posting a photograph of Georgia receiving a sunflower during the graduation ceremony, Gayheart wrote, “Congratulations Georgia! You have graduated middle school and survived an incredibly difficult year. I am so beyond proud of you — your tenacity, grit and grace has been on full display. Welcome to high school — I have no doubt you're ready.”

Gayheart also highlighted another recent achievement, noting that Georgia had won an MVP trophy for beach volleyball. She concluded her message by writing: “Bravo, congratulations and I love you so much ♥️.”

Several friends and colleagues responded to the post with messages of support. Actress Ellen Pompeo commented, “Congratulations Georgia! Well done.. your mama's words are perfect!”

Alyssa Milano added, “Your girls are so gorgeous. Like their mama.” Robin Tunney also shared her congratulations.

Georgia is one of two daughters Gayheart shares with Eric Dane. The couple also have an older daughter, Billie, aged 16.

Dane publicly revealed in April 2025 that he had been diagnosed with ALS. At the time, he said, “I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter.”

The actor died on February 19, 2026. According to a family statement, he spent his final days surrounded by loved ones, including Gayheart and their daughters.

Following his death, Gayheart shared a personal tribute on social media, writing, “There are no words. All our love forever — your girls ❤️‍🩹❤️.”

Although Gayheart filed for divorce from Dane in 2018, she dismissed the petition in March 2025 and remained a key source of support during his illness.

In a later interview, she expressed gratitude for the support her family had received while navigating the loss.
