Sarah Michelle Gellar has paid an emotional tribute to her longtime friend and Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star Anthony Head following his death.

The actress shared a series of photographs on Instagram and referenced one of the most memorable lines from the beloved series. Quoting Buffy Summers’ words from the show’s emotional finale, Gellar wrote: “Tell Giles I figured it out and I’m ok.”

She then added a deeply personal message reflecting her grief.

“Well I do not have it figured out and I’m not ok. But I know I’m the lucky one because I knew you.”

Gellar also expressed gratitude to Head’s daughters, Daisy and Emily, acknowledging the support they have shown and recognising the impact their father had on audiences around the world.

Head portrayed Rupert Giles throughout Buffy the Vampire Slayer, serving as mentor and father figure to Gellar’s Buffy Summers. The pair developed one of television’s most beloved on screen relationships during the show’s seven season run from 1997 to 2003.
