SEGA issues DMCA claims over Persona 6 leaks as authenticity gains attention
SEGA has issued DMCA takedown notices targeting recently leaked Persona 6 materials, prompting renewed discussion among fans about the status of the long-rumoured role-playing game.
The leaked content, which surfaced online last week, reportedly included concept art of the game's protagonist alongside several logo designs said to be connected to Persona 6.
The images quickly circulated across social media platforms and gaming communities before copyright claims led to their removal.
The takedown notices have drawn attention because they appear to target the specific leaked materials. As a result, some fans have interpreted the copyright action as an indication that the images originated from official sources rather than being fan creations or AI-generated content.
Prior to their removal, one of the leaked images reportedly featured a logo described as belonging to Persona 6.
The circulation of the materials fuelled speculation about the game's development and whether an official announcement could be approaching.
The latest developments have also led to increased scrutiny of information surrounding the Persona franchise. In a statement posted by Atlus' official Japanese social media account, the company warned about accounts impersonating employees and spreading unauthorised information.

The statement said, "We have confirmed the existence of 'impersonator accounts' that are posing as Atlas employees and disseminating information. These accounts have absolutely no relation to our company."
The company added that official information is only released through its official website and verified social media channels.
"Our company's official information is disseminated solely from our official website and official SNS accounts," the statement continued.
Neither SEGA nor Atlus has formally announced Persona 6. However, the removal of the leaked materials has kept attention focused on the franchise, with fans continuing to watch for any official updates regarding the next mainline entry in the series.
