LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge on Monday adjourned till October 1 the hearing of a staged encounter case against four policemen as a revision petition from the accused is pending in the Lahore High Court. DSP Riasat Bajwa, Sub Inspector Muhammad Riaz and Constables Muhammad Asif and Abdul Qadir were produced before Judge Muhammad Sheraz Kiani on Monday. A police inquiry found that they had killed a suspected robber in their custody and then staged a fake encounter at Rohi Nala to make it look like he was killed in a shootout.
