Ex-FBI agent points to 'hidden clues' in Nancy Guthrie video as investigation continues

A former FBI agent believes investigators should take a closer look at several overlooked details in surveillance footage connected to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today co-host Savannah Guthrie.

According to Men’s Journal, retired FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer has identified what she believes are important clues hidden in video footage of the masked individual seen outside Nancy Guthrie’s Tucson home before her disappearance on 1 February.

Coffindaffer focused on footage of the so-called “Porch Guy,” the masked figure captured on the home’s surveillance camera. In comments shared online, she pointed to several details that she believes warrant further scrutiny, including what appears to be a watch worn by the individual and the way he handles vegetation around the camera, which she said could indicate he is right-handed.

The former agent also suggested the footage may show the suspect looking towards another person and carrying what appears to be a handheld radio. According to Coffindaffer, those details could support a theory that more than one person was involved in the abduction.

“I believe Porch Guy took Nancy out the front door on his own, but this evidence and two back doors being open indicate he was not alone,” Coffindaffer said, according to reports.

Her latest comments come as the investigation remains active nearly four months after Guthrie vanished from her Arizona home. Authorities have previously released images and video showing an armed, masked suspect tampering with the property’s doorbell camera shortly before the disappearance.

Coffindaffer has repeatedly argued that there are more investigative leads than the public may realise. In previous comments, she highlighted ongoing analysis of surveillance footage, emails believed to be linked to the abductors and DNA evidence being examined by multiple laboratories.

Federal investigators have not publicly confirmed Coffindaffer’s theories regarding the hidden clues in the video. The FBI and local authorities continue to urge anyone with information about Guthrie’s disappearance to come forward.

The case remains one of the most closely watched missing-person investigations in the United States, with authorities continuing to examine evidence and follow leads in hopes of determining what happened to Guthrie and identifying those responsible.
