Wadood suspended from bowling
LAHORE:
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that the women’s team off-spinner Javeria Wadood has been suspended from bowling in international cricket due to an illegal action.
Wadood left for Australia last month for an assessment of her bowling action after it was found suspicious during the women’s World Twenty20 match against Sri Lanka. The assessment showed that the amount of elbow extension in her action for her off-break delivery exceeded the 15-degree level, which is the benchmark.
“In Wadood’s case, the mean elbow extension was 29.3 degrees for the off-break,” a PCB official told The Express Tribune.
