Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino reveals plan to run for New Jersey governor

Mike Sorrentino hints at a future New Jersey governor bid while expanding his addiction recovery centres

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino has revealed ambitions that could take him from reality television to politics, suggesting he may pursue a future run for governor of New Jersey after expanding his addiction recovery business.

The Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star recently said his immediate focus remains on growing Archangel Centers, the addiction recovery organisation he co-founded. Sorrentino stated that he hopes to expand the network across all 50 states over the next several years before potentially entering public office.

Speaking about his long-term plans, Sorrentino hinted at a gubernatorial campaign, saying he would introduce himself as “Governor Situation” after achieving his goals with Archangel Centers. However, he declined to reveal whether he would run as a Democrat or Republican, instead pointing to property tax reform as an issue he believes would resonate with New Jersey residents.

The television personality has increasingly focused on advocacy and recovery work following his own sobriety journey. Archangel Centers opened its first location in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, in 2025, with additional facilities planned in New Jersey, North Carolina, Florida, and Nevada. The organisation aims to expand significantly over the coming year as part of its broader mission to provide addiction treatment services.

Sorrentino said helping others through recovery has become one of the most meaningful chapters of his life, describing the growth of Archangel Centers as a way to turn personal struggles into positive change for others.

If he ultimately enters politics, Sorrentino would join a growing list of reality television personalities who have sought elected office or government positions. For now, however, the former Jersey Shore star appears focused on expanding his recovery network while keeping the door open to a future political career in New Jersey.
