Jennifer Lopez’s child, previously known publicly as Emme Muñiz, appears to have debuted a new name following their high school graduation.
According to reports highlighted by HELLO! and other outlets, the 18-year-old is now going by Oskar Muñiz. The name surfaced in a social media post celebrating the college plans of graduating seniors from Windward School in Los Angeles. The post featured a childhood photo and announced that Oskar would be attending Sarah Lawrence College to study theatre and studio arts.
The post read, “Oskar to Sarah Lawrence!” and referred to the graduate using he/him pronouns while celebrating the next stage of his academic journey. The account also noted Oskar's long-standing interest in theatre.
Neither Lopez nor Oskar has publicly commented on the apparent name change. However, the social media account linked in the graduation announcement appears to use the name Oskar and includes symbols associated with gender identity in its profile bio.
The milestone came just days after Lopez attended the graduation ceremony alongside her mother, Guadalupe Rodríguez, Oskar’s twin brother Max, and Samuel Affleck, the son of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner. Marc Anthony, who shares twins Max and Emme with Lopez, was not reported to have attended the event.
The graduation marks a significant moment for Lopez, who recently became emotional while discussing her twins preparing to leave home for university. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the singer and actress admitted she had been “crying for two months” as Max and Emme prepared to graduate and begin the next chapter of their lives. She also revealed that the twins will be attending different colleges in the autumn.
Lopez shares twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony. The siblings were born in 2008 and have largely remained out of the spotlight despite their mother's global fame.
While the apparent name change has attracted attention online, neither Oskar nor Lopez has issued a public statement regarding the development. For now, the graduation announcement marks the first public indication that Lopez’s child is using a different name as they prepare to begin college this autumn.
