Netflix’s A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder season 2 has achieved a rare streaming milestone, earning a near-perfect audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and marking a major turnaround from its debut season.
The crime drama, adapted from Holly Jackson’s bestselling YA novels, has quickly gained global traction since its return to the platform. Season 2 currently holds a 96% audience score based on more than 250 user reviews, positioning it among the strongest viewer-rated Netflix crime releases of 2026.
The improvement is especially notable compared to season 1, which received a significantly lower 68% audience rating. While the first season drew mixed reactions for its adaptation choices and pacing, viewers have praised season 2 for stronger storytelling and improved character development.
Audience responses have been overwhelmingly positive, with fans describing the new season as “1000 times better than season one” and praising the series for “finally giving us the adaptation we wanted.” Critics have also responded more favourably this time, awarding season 2 an 86% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Much of the praise continues to centre on Emma Myers, who plays protagonist Pip Fitz-Amobi. Her performance has been widely highlighted as the emotional core of the series. Critics note that while the central mystery surrounding Jamie Reynolds drives the plot, it is Myers’ portrayal that elevates the season’s impact.
Myers, already known for her role as Enid Sinclair in Wednesday, continues to strengthen her profile across Netflix’s biggest franchises. She is also set to appear in upcoming projects including The Angry Birds 3 and the sequel to A Minecraft Movie.
With its strong audience reception, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder season 2 is now being viewed as one of Netflix’s standout YA crime successes.
