'The Pitt' star Sepideh Moafi shuts down rumours of feud with Noah Wyle

The Pitt star Sepideh Moafi has firmly denied rumours of an off-screen feud with co-star Noah Wyle after fan speculation surrounding their tense on-screen dynamic in Season 2.

The actress, who joined the HBO Max medical drama as Dr Baran Al-Hashimi, addressed the rumours during a recent interview with Variety, making it clear there is no animosity between her and Wyle despite their characters frequently clashing throughout the season.

“We’re really great colleagues,” Moafi said, explaining that she and Wyle developed a strong working relationship that allowed them to comfortably film emotionally intense scenes together. She added that the rumours of personal “beef” between them were “completely false”.

Speculation began circulating online after Dr Al-Hashimi was introduced as a temporary replacement for Wyle’s Dr Robby during his sabbatical. Their professional disagreements on-screen, particularly during the latter half of the season, led some viewers to assume the conflict reflected real-life tensions behind the scenes.

Moafi dismissed the idea that story lines were influenced by any personal issues, joking that she did not have the power to shape the show in that way. She also revealed that between takes, she and Wyle were often laughing and joking together despite filming darker scenes.

The actress additionally confirmed that she is expected to return for Season 3 of The Pitt, although she admitted details surrounding her role and episode count remain unclear at this stage. Production on the next season is reportedly set to begin later this summer.

The HBO Max drama has developed an especially passionate online fanbase since premiering in 2025, though Moafi also acknowledged that parts of the fandom can become “toxic” when speculation spreads unchecked online.

Wyle, who also serves as an executive producer on the series, has previously praised Moafi’s performance publicly and spoken positively about working alongside the cast throughout Season 2.
