Maggie Grace and Steve Howey have been cast in the upcoming horror film Fiona, a Capstone Studios production based on the cult podcast Knifepoint Horror, according to an exclusive report.

The film is adapted from an original story by Knifepoint Horror creator Soren Narnia and expands the podcast’s anthology universe into feature filmmaking. Fiona follows a divorced doctor who falls in love with a mysterious woman in rural America, only to discover she may be connected to apocalyptic forces linked to nature itself. The story centres on a moral choice between saving the woman he loves or stopping a global catastrophe.

Grace, known for her roles in the Taken franchise and Lost, and Howey, recognised for Shameless and High Potential, will lead the project as it moves into production.

The film is directed by Nicholas McCarthy, with a screenplay by Justin Yoffe and Evan Hart. Producers have described Fiona as a psychological horror story rooted in emotional tension and environmental themes, exploring humanity’s relationship with destruction and survival.

Production is set to begin in Toronto on May 28, with casting handled by Seth Yanklewitz and Ben Pollack. The film will be released in theatres via Aura Entertainment before streaming on MGM+.

Knifepoint Horror, launched in 2010, has built a strong following with over 10 million downloads worldwide. Fiona marks one of the latest feature adaptations from the podcast universe, following Lockbox, another upcoming project based on a fan-favourite episode.

Capstone Studios, which is behind recent horror and thriller titles including Obsession and Don’t Move, continues to expand its footprint in genre filmmaking with high-concept adaptations and commercially driven horror projects.
