BTS member Taehyung shared his admiration for SZA and her 2022 album SOS during a conversation following the American Music Awards in Las Vegas on May 25, prompting discussion among fans about a possible future collaboration.

The comments were shared during a “Keep Swimming” anniversary celebration live on Weverse by BTS members after the group’s appearance at the AMAs.

BTS opened the awards ceremony at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and later won Song of the Summer for “SWIM” from their album Arirang.

During the conversation in the live, Taehyung spoke about meeting SZA at the event and reflected on her music.

“I really love SZA though. She’s honestly the best. I was talking to Hobi hyung about it in the car, I really love the SOS album,” he said.

RM added that the album was “super popular in Korea too,” while J-Hope recalled encouraging Taehyung to work with the singer. “So I told him, ‘You should do SOS too.’ Like, ‘You should work with SZA noona,’” he said.

Taehyung also spoke about his admiration for artists he encountered backstage at the awards show.

“But beyond just wanting to collaborate with artists like that… it was all just really amazing and surreal,” he said. “They are such incredible artists. The best, really.”

The BTS singer further revealed that he had considered reaching out directly to SZA after the event. “I even thought about DMing her,” he said, later adding that he planned to do it “later today”.

Suga also joked about the possibility of working with “SZA noona”, leading to renewed fan discussion online about a potential R&B and K-pop crossover project involving BTS members and the Grammy-winning singer.
