Netflix has reportedly cancelled or ended 10 original series in 2026, with Emily in Paris confirmed to conclude after its sixth season.

The streaming platform’s latest round of cancellations spans multiple genres, including comedy, drama, anime and reality programming.

According to the report, the increase reflects Netflix’s ongoing strategy of focusing on profitability and subscriber retention rather than expanding its catalogue of original content.

Unlike several other Netflix programmes that were cancelled without resolution, Emily in Paris will reportedly receive a planned conclusion. The series became one of Netflix’s most recognisable romantic comedies, generating continued discussion online throughout its run.

Other titles reportedly cancelled in 2026 include The Vince Staples Show, Terminator Zero, Alice in Borderland, Selling the City, Miss Governor and With Love, Meghan. Several additional shows are also ending through planned final seasons rather than abrupt cancellations.

Industry reports cited in the article claimed Netflix’s cancellation rate accelerated in 2025 and has continued rising this year. Analysts reportedly linked the trend to broader changes across the streaming industry, where platforms are prioritising viewing metrics, subscriber engagement and production costs.

The report stated that Netflix continues to invest in projects with strong international appeal and content capable of sustaining long-term audience retention.

Netflix has not indicated whether more cancellations will follow later in 2026, though reports suggested the current pace could continue throughout the year.
