$200k Lego Star Wars collection dispute triggers lawsuits and store shutdown
Legal action and investigations continue after $200K Lego Star Wars collection dispute in Oregon

A dispute over a Lego Star Wars collection reportedly valued at more than $200,000 has escalated into lawsuits, a police investigation, and widespread online attention following a series of viral YouTube videos.
The case centres on Bryan Mansell and his father’s Lego Star Wars collection, which was consigned to a Bricks & Minifigs store in Salem-Keizer, Oregon in late 2023.
Reports indicate the arrangement allowed the store to sell individual sets while ownership remained with the Mansell family, with a 35% commission agreed upon and unsold items to be returned if the agreement ended.
The store previously promoted the collection on social media, stating that the inventory was worth “well over $200,000.” However, the situation changed following a reported ownership transition at the store in November 2024.
According to local reporting, former franchise operators Chrystal and Robert Gorman claimed they were removed during the transition involving corporate representatives and incoming management.
They also stated that corporate was informed the Lego Star Wars inventory belonged to the Mansell family under a consignment agreement.
Bricks & Minifigs corporate has disputed this, stating the arrangement was “an unauthorized” consignment agreement and that it was not a party to it, emphasising that franchise locations operate independently.
Further reporting indicates that Mansell later terminated the agreement in November 2024, citing alleged missed payments and restricted access to inspect remaining inventory.
In a statement, Mansell said, “At the end of the day, I just want either a fair payout for the collection, the collection back, or the store itself run out of town if they don’t want to do what is right.”
The dispute gained wider attention after YouTuber Reckless Ben released investigative videos documenting the case, including allegations of withheld inventory, police involvement, and legal confrontations. Some claims presented in the videos, including allegations of corruption, remain unproven.
Keizer police have confirmed the matter remains under investigation, with civil litigation also ongoing. The store was later reported as closed temporarily, while further legal proceedings continue.
