'My Hero Academia Final Season' named Anime of the Year at Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2026

My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON was named Anime of the Year at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2026 during a livestreamed ceremony held in Tokyo.

The event marked the awards show's 10th anniversary and was hosted by Sally Amaki and Jon Kabira.

Crunchyroll stated that 73 million votes were cast this year, with nominees selected by a panel of judges who also participated in the voting process.

According to the platform, the highest voting activity came from countries including Brazil, Germany, India, Mexico and the United States.

The ceremony featured appearances from presenters including The Weeknd, Kasumi Arimura, Asuka Saito, Gigguk, hannah bahng, Young Miko, Mitorizu, RZA, BamBam and TEN.

Performances were delivered by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, DEAN FUJIOKA, PORNOGRAFFITTI, Yoko Takahashi and ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION.

The Global Impact Award was presented to director Tatsuya Nagamine for his work on titles including ONE PIECE and Dragon Ball Super.

Among the major category winners, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle won Film of the Year and Best Anime Score for composers Go Shiina and Yuki Kaijura.

Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow- received awards for Best Animation and Best Action Anime. Gachiakuta won Best New Series, Best Character Design and Best Background Art.

The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 secured Best Drama Anime and Best Director awards for Akinori Fudesaka and Norihiro Naganuma. Maomao from the same series won Best Anime Main Character.
