Ranked 42 in the world, made a successful debut in the Thailand Open.

Dutchman Robin Haase, ranked 42 in the world, made a successful debut in the Thailand Open with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-1) defeat of local wildcard Kittiphong Wachiramanowong. The Thai, ranked a lowly 523 in the world, put up a brave fight in the second set before succumbing to Haase’s superior class and experience. Top-seed Andy Murray and number two Gael Monfils have first-round byes in the hard-courts tournament.
