Over 1k prisoners file bail pleas ahead of Eid
As Eidul Azha approaches, 1,012 prisoners lodged in jails of Rawalpindi and Islamabad have filed bail applications in session courts, civil magistrate courts, special courts and the high courts on humanitarian grounds related to Eid.
Courts have approved bail for 130 accused during the past four days.
Daily hearings on all bail applications filed before the last working day ahead of Eidul Azha on Monday, May 25, have also started.
High court administration has directed offices of session courts in the twin cities to remain open till evening prayers on May 25 so that prisoners granted bail on Monday could be released from jail the same evening and celebrate Eid with their families.
More bail applications are also being filed.
On the directions of the high court, district and sessions judges of the twin cities will also visit Adiala Jail during the current week.
