Kylie Minogue still finding herself in the music
Docuseries revisits cancer battle, fame and creative reinvention

Australian pop icon Kylie Minogue revisits her decades-long journey through fame, scrutiny and personal struggle in a new Netflix documentary series that traces her evolution from soap star to global music sensation.
The three-part series, titled 'KYLIE', set to premiere on Wednesday, features archival footage, personal photographs and candid reflections on her rise to stardom, early career pressures and her battle with breast cancer in 2005.
Speaking to Reuters, Minogue said revisiting her personal archive was both surprising and emotional, describing it as a layered journey through "worlds within worlds" of memories.
"There were surprises left, right and centre I can kind of recognise myself from the beginning," she said. "I don't know that I've changed that much. My level of experience has changed, but I can see the seed of who I was, and I think that's really moving."
Minogue, 57, first gained fame in the Australian television soap 'Neighbours' in the 1980s before launching a music career that produced global hits including 'The Loco-Motion', 'I Should Be So Lucky', 'Spinning Around' and more recently 'Padam Padam'. Over her career, she has sold more than 80 million records worldwide and earned multiple awards, including two Grammys.
The documentary also explores the pressures of early fame and the intense media scrutiny she faced at the beginning of her music career, alongside more personal moments such as her diagnosis and recovery from breast cancer.
Minogue said the series also reflects her approach to reinvention over the years, driven by instinct and creative curiosity rather than calculation. "I just go with my gut. I go with what's inspiring me at the time," she said. "Whatever I do depends on what I've done previously."
The series includes appearances from her sister Dannii Minogue, former 'Neighbours' co-star Jason Donovan and musician Nick Cave, offering additional perspectives on her career and public life.
Blending nostalgia with reflection, 'KYLIE' positions Minogue not only as a pop star who defined multiple eras, but also as an artist still reshaping her identity in an industry that rarely pauses for reflection.
