South Park is officially returning this fall, with Comedy Central announcing that Season 29 will premiere on September 16 at 10pm.

Episodes of the long-running animated comedy will air every other Wednesday, with additional episode releases scheduled for September 30, October 14, October 28, November 11, and November 25. New episodes will also become available to stream the following day on Paramount+ Official Site in the United States, Canada, and Australia.

The upcoming season arrives as the series approaches its 30th anniversary celebration in 2027. Created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, South Park has remained one of television’s most recognizable animated comedies for nearly three decades, winning multiple Emmy Awards and earning a reputation for its sharp satire and controversial humor.

The show experienced renewed cultural attention during Season 27 after heavily parodying Donald Trump and his administration. One widely discussed episode featured a satirical deepfake-style version of Trump wandering through a desert in a bizarre patriotic advertisement, while later episodes introduced an absurd fictional relationship storyline involving Satan and the president.

The season also mocked political figures including JD Vance, portraying him as a miniature, childish character inspired by classic television archetypes. The controversial storylines quickly went viral online and became some of the show’s most talked-about political satire in years.

According to reports, Season 27 became the most-watched season of South Park in six years and ranked as the top cable show among viewers aged 18–49 during 2025.

Fans are now eagerly waiting to see which cultural and political topics the new season will target next, especially after the show’s recent resurgence in mainstream online conversation.

Alongside Parker and Stone, the series is executive produced by Anne Garefino and Frank C. Agnone II. Eric Stough, Adrien Beard, Bruce Howell, and Vernon Chatman also continue to serve as producers on the long-running animated hit.
